Metroccolis is a Berlin based performance company captivating audiences worldwide with one great passion: mime.
For 15 years now, we have been constantly working on this nonverbal art form developing several projects from a feature-length theater show to an outdoor installation, from various short mime sketches to our very unique robot act. While keeping costumes and stage design to a minimum, our major focus is the core of mime in which technique and body skills are as crucial as touching stories. Countless guest performances around the world show great promise for this way in the future.
Mimes don’t need a stage, they are the very theater. Mimes don’t need to speak, their movements are unmistakable. Mimes don’t need any props, they embody anything and anyone.
We live and celebrate this universal type of physical theater 24 hours a day, creating new works which always excel in profile and quality in order to mesmerize the audience with a silent art form beyond antiquated mime clichés. And in this very moment, all our energy and skills fuse into new electrifying walkabout acts, mime shows, theater workshops, stage choreographies and, of course, commissioned works for worldwide performances on festivals, vaudeville stages, gala events, fairs and conventions, as well as in music videos, commercial, movies, clubs and discotheques.
